The majority of people who play games do so for fun. There are however others out there who take gaming extremely seriously. People differ a lot and as a result some prefer one way, while others may like it in a different way. What type of gamer are you?
I come from a very large family and we love to play games. I have some brother-in-laws that didn't grow up playing games and so it is like pulling teeth to get them to play games with us. There are certain games that we are pretty sure we can get them to play with us and then there are those that we know for sure they won't even consider playing with us.
Something that most people don't realize right away about playing games is not so much the game play itself, but the social aspect. As soon as these stubborn members of our family sees that we are chatting and laughing together, they are more inclined to join in. It can get very interesting when you have a large group of people playing together and enjoying themselves.
Then there are a couple of games that a few of us love to play and they are much more of a serious game. With these few serious games it is quiet and thought out and no one is helping each other. It is more technical and down to a few players. We love the serious games, but we definitely find that it is easier to play the serious games when the children are quieter and there are no distractions.
Playing games with friends and family is not everyone's idea of fun and many prefer to rather play video games on a console or computer by themselves. Your preference doesn't matter, just as long as you have a good time. There is so much fun to be had from playing games.
There are also benefits to playing games. They actually help you in improving your concentration and you will learn to make better decisions. This can go a long way in helping you in real life.
