So you want to become a diamond player in a matter of days. It is not that hard. All you need to do is win more games than you lose. Harder said than done? Just follow these tips and you will be well on your way.
There will be times when you lose but you should not consider that a bad thing eventhough you must win more games than you lose to be promoted through the leagues. A loss should act as a learning experience. You can learn from a loss simply by taking advantage of the replay feature Starcraft 2 has.
Why must you learn all of this? Simply because when the time comes to actually play games with diligence you will have to know what you are doing. Just as an example think about this situation.
You choose to play as Terran and in your first game you face a Protoss player. You take the standard route of building 3 barracks, 2 with tech labs for less time for researching stim pack and marine shields and for double the marauder production. Your third barracks has a reactor for fast marine production.
You will lose on your way up the ladders. It happens. But you should not get frustrated. Failures act as learning experiences. Acknowledge that by saying good game to your opponent and then watch the replay to see what you could have done differently. Once you have a basic understanding of the races and the units you will know what you could have done.
This makes you a better player. To reach the diamond league quickly I recommend first reading up on the basics of the game. Learn about each unit and what they are good for. Also learn about the different strategies each race has and how you can tell if your opponent will go for such a strategy.
