Puzzle games are one of the most popular types of games on the net. People play it whenever they have some free time and with good reason. When you play these 3 in a row games there would be none of the flashy graphics or awe-inspiring alien worlds, but the game-play is seriously addictive.
It is very easy to learn to play these games and you will get the hang of it in minutes. However getting good at it is a whole different story. There have also been numerous variations developed over the past few years.
The basic idea behind all of these games will stay the same. In order to progress you need to line up 3 of the same and remove them. Depending on the variation you are playing these will be removed in different ways and some would have some fun and entertaining features.
The ones with the extra features range from power-ups where you can blow up large amounts at a time, through to getting huge groups of similar tiles together and getting huge points.
The game that I like best is Crash down. It works on the very basic concept of getting 3 tiles in a row, clicking on them and destroying them. There will be new tiles added to the bottom constantly and the will push up everything above it and you must stop it before it hits the top.
When I played it for the first time I tried really hard to remove all of the tiles as quickly as possible. I thought I was getting quite good quite quickly as I flew through the levels. Problem: my scores sucked. So I tried harder and removed them even faster. Result: my scores still sucked.
Then I tried to build up huge groups of a certain colour tile and remove every other colour in between. Then as soon as the group was big enough, I would remove the huge group. The result: huge scores. I got 3 times my previous final scores (after about 15 stages) from this one move in the first stage.
In the end I figured out that there is a little trick to each of these puzzle games. Half the fun is finding out how each of these games can best be played. Loads of fun.
