The main issue about using Youtube advice is it's reliability. Anyone at all can post a Youtube video and you have no way of knowing if the advice is any good. Who's advice should you take? Which person should you trust?
Some of the RROD fixes on Youtube can damage your Xbox such as the towel fix. Others are poor quality or go through the procedure too quickly leaving out vital details. Often you are left in the dark about the required tools and parts.
Are the disassembly and reassembly procedures clearly demonstrated? What about the camera angle? Does his hand or shoulder block your view? If you forgo the free info and buy a repair guide, there are still other concerns to be aware of.
