Nintendo Wii is amazingly simpler to handle when compared to a more complex systems of PlayStation and Xbox. The controller is interestingly very similar to a TV remote, a dramatic change over the more conventional directional pads and sticks. The interface presented by Wii is easier to follow than its counterparts in the market, making it more popular among the masses.
The console possesses all the features required to connect to an HDTV including a cradle to vertically mount the console, the sensor bar as well as the usual set of composite AV cables. However, these cables do not support the higher available resolution of 480p, thus forcing you to buy a separate set of component cables.
With dimensions of 1.75x6.25x8.5, when placed horizontally, the console is smaller than expected and does not occupy much space. This enables you to move it around the house as desired. Place it next to your desktop or simply carry it next to the television. White is the only color that is available in the market. However, looking at the current trends, more colors are likely to hit the market in future.
The console comes with an internal memory of 512 MB along with Virtual Console titles. Well, that memory will obviously not last forever, and you can increase it through the Secure Digital card slot provided in the console. SD cards being cheap it's a great feature incorporated by Wii compared to the proprietary cards used by older systems.
You can navigate Wii using Wii channels. The default channels include photo, message, weather forecast and news. Virtual Console titles as well as GameCube and Wii games can be accessed through the Home page, which is the default gateway for the console. The motion sensing feature is probably the best in Nintendo Wii and is provided in all Wii games. These and several other features make Nintendo Wii a complete multimedia system.
