Following is an easy to follow step by step mage leveling guide to help make your life easier.

The easiest places to level are in wide open spaces like fields and the like. This is because it will allow you to run for safety and to choose your opponents. Being in enclosed spaces will be much more difficult and should be kept for higher levels or when you are in a group with an able tank.

When playing or levelling solo, begin by casting a frost bolt on the monster or mob to slow it down significantly. Once cast, follow through quickly with a fireball for some extra burn damage. If the monster is still on the attack, get out of melee range and fire again with a frost bolt followed by a fireball until it is no longer moving.

Mana is your life, so to get more mana stock up on blue potions that will replenish this. Learn to spam missile skills like Frostbolt fireball, and Arcane missiles. Keep doing this until you reach level 25 at least.

You will need some friends once you reach level 25 so as to level up faster in the dungeons. Make friends with players who make able tanks like warrior type characters and you can be in charge of the damage dealing. Use AOE spells for really increased earnings in experience.

When you do decide to use AOE, or area of effect, spells to level, focus heavily on the Frost spells. Start your attack cycle by pulling in a mob with Improved Blizzard. Once they are close enough use Frost Nova. Back up a few steps and use Improved Blizzard again. This attack combination will kill most mobs before you start a second attack cycle and will level you up quick. Once you have a mage leveling guide you will level up much faster.
