Has your Farmville experience been a little lackluster lately? Maybe you powered through the early levels and made huge amounts of coins, but now you find yourself a little stuck - you want to make more coins, but don't know how.
The important thing to remember in this situation is that the best crops to plant, based on how many coins you earn from growing them per hour, change as you gain levels. From levels one through four, the best crop to plant is strawberries, which earn 6.25 coins per hour. When you reach level eight, the best crop to plant is raspberries, which earn 13 coins per hour.
Although, it's more than just coins per hour -- time is also a big factor in deciding the best crop. If you can't harvest raspberries every two hours, pumpkins might be better. They make significantly less each hour (8.25 less coins to be specific), but are less demanding on your time, since they take eight hours before they're harvestable. So if you want more time, and would be satisfied with 4.75 coins/hour, pumpkins are your crop.
When you hit level seven, the decision between pumpkins and rice is pretty much a toss-up, at least in terms of deciding which is better to plant when you can't devote tons of time to Farmville. Pumpkins take eight hours to mature, making 4.75 each hour, while rice takes 12 hours to reach maturity, making 4.25 each hour. If you're having trouble deciding, look closely at your schedule and figure out what works for it...or flip a coin.
If you have all the time in the world, stick to raspberries from levels 8-16. They mature extremely fast, being ready to harvest in two hours, and they yield 13 coins per hour, which is the highest amount of coins per hour for any crop at those levels.
When you hit level 17, you have the option of sticking with raspberries or going with blueberries instead. The advantage with blueberries is that they free up some of your time because you don't have to harvest them every two hours; blueberries take four hours instead, making 10.25 coins per hour.
If you'd like an idea of how many coins in profit you can make in a week from raspberries, 9,856 is a good figure, but also a huge underestimate. It's an underestimate because it assumes that you're planting in a very small field of only 16 plots.
As you gain levels, remember to pay attention to how much different crops earn - raspberries or blueberries may not always be the most efficient crops for you. Here's a formula to help you figure out how many coins different crops make per hour:
(Total Coins Made When Selling Crop - Cost to Buy Seeds) / Number of Hours for Crop to Reach Maturity = Coins Made Each Hour from Crop
If you're using that formula to keep track of the highest earning crops as you level, making coins should never be an issue for you. Happy farming!
